Project Overview

A NEW
RESIDENTIAL
COMMUNITY

Following the family and community center work, the design team was engaged to prepare schematic design drawings for a new 74-unit apartment complex.

The development is organized as a three-story residential community with a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, shared amenities, and a central courtyard. The approach balances project feasibility, efficient planning, and a distinct residential identity.

The building concept uses wood-frame construction to support an economical structural strategy while creating comfortable apartment layouts and strong connections to the shared outdoor spaces.

Design Strategy

DESIGNED FOR
FEASIBILITY

The massing establishes a clear, symmetrical arrival while organizing the residential wings around a protected courtyard. Repeated building bays, a consistent window rhythm, and a limited exterior material palette reinforce constructability without sacrificing architectural character.

The centralized amenity concept also gives the development a strong internal focus: residents arrive through a defined entry sequence and transition into a landscaped social space at the center of the community.

COMMUNITY
AT THE CENTER

The central courtyard acts as the social heart of the development, combining a swimming pool, shaded gathering areas, outdoor seating, landscaping, and a direct visual connection to the surrounding residences.

Architectural Character

REPETITION.
DEPTH.
IDENTITY.

The exterior uses repeated balcony bays, contrasting cladding, masonry at the base, and taller glazed features to break down the building mass and create a recognizable residential rhythm.

The entry-facing elevations are more formal and symmetrical, while the courtyard elevations are designed to feel more intimate and active through balconies, landscape, and shared amenity space.
