A place of comfort and remembrance.

Barnes Chapel & Mortuary Services is a concept design for a full-service funeral home and memorial center in Monroe, Louisiana.

The 8,220-square-foot building is planned around three visitation parlors, a memorial chapel, family arrangement and selection rooms, and dedicated preparation and support spaces — organized so families can gather, grieve, and remember with dignity.

Warm brick and stone, generous glazing, and a sheltered porte-cochère create a calm, reassuring arrival. The project is currently in concept design, awaiting funding.

Architectural Character

Warm, timeless, and welcoming.

The design gives the funeral home a dignified, residential presence. Brick masonry and a stone base ground the building, while a tall glazed entry gable brings daylight into the lobby and signals a clear, welcoming way in.

A covered porte-cochère shelters families as they arrive, and soft exterior lighting keeps the building calm and reassuring for evening visitations and services.
