Project Story

Brand experience in front. Operational capacity behind it.

Bon Bon began as a highly curated candy shop on Lexington Avenue, where architecture, millwork, lighting and branding were developed as one retail experience.

After completion, the same client engaged Paper Plane Architecture for a separate warehouse renovation supporting storage, distribution and day-to-day operations.

Retail Experience

Small footprint. Strong identity.

The narrow Manhattan storefront is organized as a warm, immersive retail room. Full-height custom wood displays frame the customer path, integrated lighting makes the merchandise part of the architecture, and the pink storefront creates an unmistakable street presence.

The Second Commission

From retail experience to logistics infrastructure.

The second project shifts almost completely in character. Instead of customer intimacy and visual merchandising, the warehouse is about capacity, clarity, movement and efficient operations. The contrast is the story.

Warehouse Renovation

Designed for capacity.

A 10,000-square-foot renovation supporting storage, distribution, customer interaction and the operational needs of a growing retail business.

Operational Infrastructure

Clear. Durable. Efficient.

The warehouse strips the design language back to what the operation needs: organized storage, generous working aisles, durable finishes, a clean loading environment and carefully defined customer/support areas.

The value of the project is not decorative. It is the ability of the space to make the business work better.

One Client · Two Environments

A connected design approach from customer experience to business operations.

Together, the projects show a broader kind of commercial practice: the ability to create a memorable front-of-house environment and then solve the pragmatic infrastructure that lets the same business scale behind the scenes.
