The Opportunity

A clinic designed to feel clear, calm and connected to its community.

For this RFP, Paper Plane Architecture developed a complete design direction for a new community clinic, pairing an approachable exterior identity with an organized clinical environment. The concept uses a simple, durable architectural language and a strong arrival sequence to make the building easy to understand from the moment a patient enters the site.

The planning strategy organizes medical and dental treatment rooms, clinical support, administrative functions and shared patient areas around straightforward circulation. The goal was to create an efficient workplace for staff while giving patients a setting that feels professional, accessible and comfortable.

Design Approach
01

A welcoming arrival

A visible, legible entrance and landscaped approach give the clinic a civic presence without making the building feel institutional or intimidating.

02

Efficient care delivery

Clinical rooms are arranged to support clear staff movement, intuitive patient circulation and practical adjacencies between treatment, support and administrative areas.

03

Durable, restrained materials

Brick, light masonry, large windows and a warm entrance canopy create a durable palette intended to age well while still feeling contemporary and inviting.

RFP Positioning

Design as part of the care experience.

The submission was conceived not simply as a building proposal, but as an argument for how architecture can support trust, access and operational clarity. From parking and arrival to exam rooms and staff support, each layer of the project was organized to make the patient journey easier to understand.

Clinical Planning

Complex programs, made legible.

The floor plan brings together multiple care functions within one clear organizational framework. Treatment spaces, dental rooms, support spaces, offices and larger shared clinical areas are arranged to reduce unnecessary circulation and keep patient-facing spaces easy to navigate.

For the RFP, the plan and site design were developed together so that building operations, parking, access and landscape would read as one coordinated proposal rather than separate design problems.
