The Vision

A premier tournament facility for a new campus.

The Morgan County Tennis Complex was conceived as an integral component of the new high school campus — a modern interscholastic venue built to support both competitive athletics and community use.

The goal was clear: create a premier tournament facility that enhances athletic performance, fosters community pride, and delivers long-term durability through efficient circulation and thoughtful site integration.

  • Competition-ready venue for interscholastic play
  • Open to the surrounding community
  • Long-term durability and low maintenance
  • Efficient circulation and clear wayfinding
  • Seamless integration with the existing campus

The Design

Six championship courts, organized for play and spectatorship.

Six championship tennis courts anchor the complex, arranged to maximize tournament play while creating clear separation between players and spectators. Careful attention was given to circulation, visibility, durability, and long-term maintenance throughout.

A dedicated support building provides equipment storage, maintenance space, and operational support for athletic staff — while sports lighting, accessible walks, spectator seating, and site utilities round out a complete, code-compliant facility.

  • Six championship tennis courts
  • Sports lighting for evening play
  • Spectator seating
  • Accessible walks and site circulation
  • Support building — storage & maintenance
  • Court fencing, utilities, and site improvements

The Outcome

A signature campus improvement, completed in 2024.

Completed in 2024, the complex has become a signature campus improvement — strengthening Morgan County Schools' athletic facilities while providing a high-quality venue for students and the surrounding community.

Under lights, the courts extend play into the evening and give the district a facility capable of hosting competitive events well beyond the school day.
